After many successful years of showing Angora rabbits the length of the country, under the stud name of Heatherlea Rabbit Stud. Heatherlea Pets was founded in July of 1994 by Heather and Alan Bateman together with daughter Samantha. It was time to put the experience that had been accumulated over the years to good use and pass on our knowledge and experience within the pet trade, continually offering advice and encouragement to beginners.
January 1998 saw the introduction of the
Heatherlea Prestige Pet Club.
The first UK pet shop to run a pet club, offering its members Discounts on selected Items, News Letters, Pet Articles of interest and Discount vouchers.
January 1998 also saw the opening of our own Timber product manufacturing workshop.
February 1998 Heatherlea Pets achieved another First for a UK pet shop by launching it's own Web Site, this site is the new version with many more functions and will continue to grow, this site was launched in September 1999.
December 1999 also saw the introduction of online ordering for Books through our association membership with Amazon Books
January 2000 saw the uploading of the Largest Selected Pet Book Library on the Internet.
Following the success of the web site we have extended our service.
In August 2000
we added the online shopping cart.
With many more pages and much more information to add the site will continue to expand over the coming years.
